Whether turning four or forty, birthday treats seem to be the favorite part of that annual special occasion. Cakes, cupcakes, cookies or brownies - all are fabulous ways to celebrate a birthday. Add frosting and sprinkles -- then you have the perfect party.
Batter has been recieving lots of birthday requests lately - cupcakes for little ones, small cakes for a few, tall cakes for a crowd, cookie favors for the whole bunch.
I love birthday cake - which is an evolution from where I started. Apparently when I was three I proclaimed that I "loved cake." My mother was quick to point out that I actually just liked frosting. Now I really do like the whole combinaton. Some of my favorites this week were yellow cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting; vanilla cake with raspberry buttercream filling; and devil's food cupcakes.
